BullDude’s Portfolios: Weekly Report + New “Tech Stars” Portfolio

Within this article you will find a weekly summary of the 5 BullDude’s Portfolios that are in the testing phase (6 months):

  • “Greater Strength” Portfolio

  • “Mid / Large – Cap” Portfolio
  • “Small – Cap” Portfolio
  • “IPOs” Portfolio

Again this week all 5 portfolios outperformed the benchmark. The best portfolio was “Greater Strength” which ended the week up by 1.74% (dragged up by Nike’s earnings report) compared to the -0.63% decline in the S&P 500 index.

Looking at the performance since the beginning of the test (31 Aug 2020) all 5 portfolios are outperforming the benchmarks, despite the market crash starting 2 days after the start of the test.

New “Tech Stars” Portfolio

Starting from the trading session on Monday 28 September 2020, the test phase of a new “Tech Stars” portfolio will begin, which will focus on technology companies and the benchmark will be the Nasdaq composite index.

New Benchmarks

Compared to last week, the benchmarks for each of the 5 portfolios have been revised, in order to better reflect their composition and to have a more reliable benchmark with which to compare the results.

The “Small – Cap” portfolio will benchmark the Russell 2000 index which best reflects the presence of small-cap companies in the portfolio, while the “Greater Strength”, “Growing Business Data”, “Mid / Large – Cap” and “IPOs”will benchmark the S&P 500 index. Finally, as previously written, the new “Tech Stars” portfolio will benchmark the Nasdaq composite index.
