PART 1

Calendar of the week

Inside the image you can find the calendar to know the day on which the companies will release the earnings reports. Every day companies can release the quarterly report in 2 moments:

  • Before Open: the company will release the quarterly report within 1 or 2 hours before the market opens.
  • After Close: the company will release the quarterly report within 1 or 2 hours after the market has closed.

PART 2

In this section you will find everything you need to know about the most interesting companies that are about to release earnings reports and is divided into 3 tables:

1. EPS Estimates and Last Earnings Report Data

The EPS Estimates and Last Earnings Report Data table reports for each of the companies the growth rates of 2 key fundamental data (Revenue and Net Income) reported in the last earnings report released by the company compared to the same quarter of the previous year. In addition, the Earnings-Per-Share (EPS) growth rate forecast by analysts in this quarter compared to last year is reported.

  • Est. EPS growth this quarter:

EPS (Earnings-Per-Share) growth expected by analysts in the quarter ended recently compared to the same quarter 12 months earlier. Useful information to know what are the expectations for the EPS that the company will release soon.

  • Quarterly Revenue and Net Income”:

Revenue and Net Income reported in the last Earnings Report released by the company about 3 months ago and growth / decrease compared to the same quarter of 12 months before. Useful data to know which companies grew in the last quarter and which did not.

Below you will find a chart containing the trend of the stock price (last 3 months) of the companies analyzed in this article. This chart is useful to understand which companies are growing the most, especially compared to the main US stock index, the S&P 500 (red line).

2. EPS Surprise and Stock Price Reactions

The “EPS Surprise and Stock Price Reactions” table shows the behavior of each of the companies during the last 3 earnings reports reported in terms of EPS surprise (how much it beat analysts’ expectations) and the relative reaction of the stock price.

  • EPS surprise and “Price reaction”:

“EPS surprise” represents how much the company has beaten analyst expectations over the past three quarters. This data is useful to understand if the company often beats expectations and if it does little or much.

“Price reaction” represents the reaction of the stock price to the last 3 earnings reports released. This data is useful to understand if the company usually reacts positively or negatively to earnings reports.

3. Upcoming Earnings Reports – SUMMARY

Within this summary it is possible to identify the best and worst companies based on the parameters present in the table in the previous section.

PART 3

Within this third and final part you will find a more long-term view on the performance of the companies selected for this analysis. The objective of this section is to show the revenue and net income of each individual company and to check if these figures have been growing in the last 3 years.

Precisely for this reason, in the table below you will find in the “Revenue” and “Net Income” columns the data of the last year (TTM, or the sum of the last 4 quarters) and in the “3 years Growth (%)” column the rate of growth or decrease compared to the same data 3 years ago. So it is very easy to check if the company is growing in the short term (last quarter, visible in the first table of the PART 2) and in the medium to long term (annual data, this section).
